First day of the "Open Innovation" passed in Moscow

- Today the international “Open Innovation” technology Forum and Show started working in Moscow. Hundreds of experts met at the ENEA (Exhibition of National Economy Achievements) to discuss how the new technology changes human habitat, influences education, entertainments, work and health. took part in work of the first day of the Forum.
While speaking at the plenary meeting of the Forum Dmitry Medvedev
noted that there is no alternative to the innovation development of Russia: "The progress can’t be stopped. The course on the innovation growth support will be continued, and it is a national target. We shall be built in the global technology world". The head of the government also emphasized that Russia is open for the innovation cooperation with all concerned, despite all attending circumstances.
"Russia is on the front line of the innovation development", - the president of the Fund for the economic trends research, the writer, the social philosopher and the economist Jeremy Rifkin
assures. The expert noted that Russia takes a leading position in the field of innovation: the majority of significant discoveries of the XX century – the century of the second industrial revolution – were performed right here. According to Rifkin, Russia possesses all the opportunities, namely: renewable natural resources, knowledge, talented scientists and inventors to become the innovation development leader during the third industrial revolution of the XXI century.
The program of the first Forum day included over 30 events with participation of the speakers from Russia, the countries of Europe and Asia, including the Ministers of the Russian Government and the countries of BRICS, the representatives of the companies Airbus, ABBYY, JSC RVC, JSC RUSNANO, Skolkovo and RFBR (Russian Foundation for Basic Research).
The Ministers of Science, Technology and Innovation of Russia, Brazil, India, China and the Republic of South Africa met at the strategic session on the "Research Infrastructure of BRICS Countries" within the Forum. The session participants discussed the global competitiveness increase of the BRICS countries’ scientific research results. The Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Dmitry Livanov noted the importance of joint coordination in creation and development of large research infrastructure projects. "For the purpose of financial and intellectual resources consolidation, in order to create large research infrastructures of BRICS, a unified authority (forum) arrangement is reasonable, which activities shall result in the "road map" of the research infrastructures created within the territory of BRICS", - Dmitry Livanov
The Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin
emphasized that the world economic situation won't force us to refuse development of science and technology parks and technopolises as they are capable to attract private investment and to become the economy development drivers. "From year to year Moscow moves forward in this area – today we have 19 science and technology parks and technopolises already with 16 thousand young active people working there. And that’s very important: not only the state performs money investment in such platforms creation but also private investors. The majority of these platforms is constructed, supported and operated by private investors", - Sergey Sobyanin declared.
In the first day of the forum work signing of a number of Partnership and Cooperation Agreements took place. Two agreements – with the Government of the Astrakhan region and with the IMEC company – have been signed by JSC RUSNANO, the Government of Moscow signed the agreement in the field of the innovation policy implementation with Morton-RSO company. Moreover, the results were summed up and the ceremonies of the "Venture Investor", "Gold Stylus", Tech-in-Media tender winners’ awards passed.
About the Technology Forum and Show “Open Innovations”
The Technology Forum and Show “Open Innovations” 2015 is the largest in Russia event, revealing the topic of the future of technology in modern life, economy and society.
The Forum is held since 2012 under the auspices of the Government of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and with the participation of the Government of Moscow, as well as the Russian development institutions of OJSC “ROSNANO”, OJSC “RVK”, the Foundation “Skolkovo”, Vnesheconombank, the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Fields. The operator of the Forum is the Foundation “St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.” Over the years, the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the heads of the governments of some foreign countries, the representatives of the large companies took part in the Forum.
The Forum participants include major technology companies and young start-ups, venture industry and state development institutions, visionaries and engineers, suppliers and consumers of technology.
This year’s event will be held in a new format of discussions “sans ties”, in the truly informal and interactive environment. In addition to the plenary presentations, the master classes, free lectures, presentations, debates, workshops, public interviews will be held during the Forum.
