Finale of the UMNIK Program within the framework of the Forum and Technology Show "Open Innovations 2015" took place
On October 29, 2015 within the framework of the Forum and Technology Show "Open Innovations 2015" Finale of the UMNIK Program of the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology took place at VDNKh.
Event organizers:
- Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology (Foundation for supporting innovations);
- The Center for Monitoring, Peer Review, Analysis of Implementation and Consulting Support for Projects, carried out under the UMNIK Program in Moscow.
In the period from September 1 to October 20, 2015 31 applications from young scientists, students and studying youth aged 18 to 28 years inclusive was received in the finale of the UMNIK Program within the framework of the Forum and Technology Show "Open Innovations 2015". As part of the semi-final selection from October 21 to October 23, 2015 expert examination of the projects received was carried out.
25 projects in 5 priority directions were admitted to the final of the competition:
• Н1- Information Technology - 5 projects;
• Н2- Future Medicine - 6 projects;
• Н3- Modern Materials and Technologies of their Creation - 5 projects;
• Н4- New Devices and Hardware Systems - 6 projects;
• Н5- Biotechnologies - 3 projects.
Deputy Director General of the Foundation for Supporting Innovations Gudkov Pavel Gennadievich made a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the event. He spoke about the peculiarities of the UMNIK Program, which aims to generate a new generation of entrepreneurs and innovators. He explained that the Foundation provides funding for applied projects that have the prospects of further commercialization. The program is conducted in the framework of the Forum and Technology Show "Open Innovations" also with the aim to show to all innovators and potential participants the model of selection to the preseed financing UMNIK Program, to try on the format of the program. He wished all the finalists good luck and success in life.
The next speaker was Deputy Chief of Project Support, head of the UMNIK Program organization group of the Foundation for Supporting innovations Demchenko Vyacheslav Olegovich. He encouraged participants to defend their point of view before the experts, to try to prove that the project is relevant, has scientific novelty, commercializable and worthy of a grant during the presentations and discussions. And wished success to everyone.
Head of the Center for Monitoring, Peer Review, Analysis of Implementation and Consulting Support for Projects, carried out under the UMNIK Program in Moscow Komarov Mikhail Mikhailovich spoke concluding words, who noted that there are projects from 20 universities and organizations in the finale, pointed out the selection criteria, specified the regulations for presentations, reminded of the possibility of models demonstration and, in conclusion, wished good luck and success.
Throughout the day, evaluation of projects was carried out by strict jury consisting of seven people, including doctors, candidates of science, representatives of the business community.
After hearing the projects, the expert council, taking into account the results of the vote, has decided to recognize the winners of the UMNIK Program and encouraged the Foundation for Supporting Innovations adopt 15 projects for financing. The winners will receive a grant of 400 000 rubles for 2 years to conduct research projects. As a result, the total amount of financing the winners was 6 000 000 rubles for carrying out research works.
Also, the winners were awarded certificates, which entitle to receive a free consultation and filling an application for registration of intellectual property object on the website of the "Online Patent" company.

Also, on October 29, 2015 a seminar on the UMNIK Program was held. Seminar was conducted by Deputy Chief of Project Support, head of the UMNIK Program organization group of the Foundation for Supporting Innovations Demchenko Vyacheslav Olegovich и and Head of the Center for Monitoring, Peer Review, Analysis of Implementation and Consulting Support for Projects, carried out under the UMNIK Program in Moscow Komarov Mikhail Mikhailovich. During the seminar they spoke about the format of the UMNIK Program, selection criteria, recommendations for the preparation of the project for presentation and speech before the expert council, for the process of contracting and submission of reports, help in filing an application for registration of a patent were presented. Everyone could ask questions and receive consultations.

About the Technology Forum and Show “Open Innovations”
The Technology Forum and Show “Open Innovations” 2015 is the largest in Russia event, revealing the topic of the future of technology in modern life, economy and society.
The Forum is held since 2012 under the auspices of the Government of the Russian Federation, with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia and with the participation of the Government of Moscow, as well as the Russian development institutions of OJSC “ROSNANO”, OJSC “RVK”, the Foundation “Skolkovo”, Vnesheconombank, the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Fields. This year’s event will be held in a new format of discussions “sans ties”, in the truly informal and interactive environment. In addition to the plenary presentations, the master classes, free lectures, presentations, debates, workshops, public interviews will be held during the Forum.
The discussions will be built around the topic of “The Man at the Crossroads of the Technology Revolution Trends" and focused on five key areas of the human life, changing dramatically under the technology influence: productivity, habitat, education, health and show-business industry. A certain day of the Forum will be dedicated to each of these areas.
